Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center

Janesville, WI
A former Sears anchor store in the Janesville Mall was demolished to create the new 140,000 square foot Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center. The one-story facility with a mezzanine serves as a regional hub for sports, conventions, conferences, and large events. It is also the home of the Janesville Jets hockey team.
The ice rink in the main area will hold up to 1,500 spectators. A flex space of 25,800 square feet will host conventions, banquets, trade shows, and a variety of other large events. The convertible space will also support multiple basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, as well as a turf soccer field and more. A multipurpose arena, which will be an additional adjustable space for sports, conferences, and events, will support 250 guests.
Precast concrete wall panels were used on the exterior of the facility, while hollowcore plank was used inside the facility. Precast concrete was also used to create the stadium risers.
