CONCRETE GENERAL LABORER
Did you enjoy playing with Legos as a child? Did you spend hours building with Lincoln Logs, K’nex and blocks? Do you drive past construction sites and wonder “how’d they do that?” If you answered “YES” to these questions… Mid-States Concrete Industries is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working individuals to join our team as a General Concrete Laborer.

A kick-ass General Concrete Laborer isn’t afraid to get dirty and shows up with a positive attitude ready to work hard and knock the work day out. We work as a team with safety as our top priority, so everyone looks out for everyone. The ideal candidate is reliable - they not only show up for work every day but also complete all their tasks and fulfill their responsibilities. The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure is a must.

Construction skills are a plus, but we provide all the training needed. Come ready to work hard and we’ll teach you everything you need to know. The ideal candidate is looking for a career, not just a job, and must be able to read a tape measure and follow standard work instructions. The General Concrete Laborer communicates well with the team, keeping everyone on the same page, and knows how to organize their day for maximum results.

Concrete General Laborers will create precast concrete walls, beams, columns and hollowcore for buildings of all types. These buildings range from the senior living community where grandparents reside, to the multi-family apartment building a newlywed couple calls their first home, to the school gymnasium where 10-year-olds learn how to shoot a three pointer.

Join our team, where being a little weird is a good thing, at a starting salary of $16/hour, with scheduled increases and opportunities to advance. Many team members earn around $17/hour by their one-year anniversary. Job openings on 2nd shift (3 pm start). We are a union shop.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Remember the big yellow Tonka trucks you played with in the sandbox as a child?  Do you want to drive similar heavy equipment for real?  Mid-States Concrete Industries is looking for versatile, hard-working and dependable individuals to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

A badass Heavy Equipment Operator likes physical, outdoor work and is able to not only solve problems as they come at you, but also think three or four steps ahead for the most efficient day.  We work as a team with safety as our top priority, so everyone looks out for everyone.  The ideal candidate is reliable – which means they not only show up every day, but also pull their own weight on the team.  The ability to roll with the punches and quickly accommodate changes is a must.  We are looking for a team member with leadership skills, as well as an ability to work independently, while still taking direction.
 
The Heavy Equipment Operator must have 2-3 years of experience in operating heavy equipment, as well as experience pulling trailers.  The ideal candidate is looking for a career, not just a job, and must have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.  The Heavy Equipment Operator communicates well with the team, keeping everyone on the same page, and knows how to organize their day for maximum results.

Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, supplies and finished product.  Our finished products include precast concrete walls, beams, columns and hollowcore for buildings of all types.  These buildings range from the senior living community where grandparents reside, to the multi-family apartment building a newlywed couple calls their first home, to the school gymnasium where 10-year-olds learn how to shoot a three pointer.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Do you like to take things apart, see how they work, and then put them back together again?  Do you enjoy working with your hands and prefer some dirt under your fingernails?  Mid-States Concrete Industries is looking for an honest, mechanically inclined and hard-working individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician.

A superstar Maintenance Technician likes physical work and can troubleshoot, service and rebuild manufacturing equipment to keep our shop running.  We work as a team with safety as our top priority, so everyone looks out for each other.  The ideal candidate is reliable – which means they not only show up every day, but also pull their own weight on the team.  A willingness to learn and desire to do the job right the first time are a must.  We are looking for a team player to collaborate with our entire production team for efficient repairs and maintenance.
 
The Maintenance Technician must be able to read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair, and have excellent organizational and communication skills to schedule and track repairs, safety inspections and maintenance performed.  The ideal candidate is looking for a rewarding career and must have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
